After the opening party at MedAsia Playa, Sliema, everyone was so pumped and excited which made the opening more incredible. After spending an evening amongst so many talented, passionate people who either are part in making Malta Fashion Week or are taking part in it. Day 1 of Malta Fashion Week 2018 is here and was entirely surrounding different designer brands from DIZZ Group.

As you approach Fort St. Elmo you are instantly greeted with several cars from Mercedes Benz. It really is a picture-perfect moment to witness the contrast between a majestic historic fort and the beautiful selection of Mercedes cars.

Malta Fashion Week 2018 Day 1 – DIZZ Group
DIZZ Group is a company that has made a very strong name in the fashion, beauty, and catering industries in Malta. It mainly focuses on the franchise and importing of renowned fashion brands, such as Elisabetta Franchi, Trussardi Jeans, Harmont & Blaine, Goldenpoint, LIU JO, GUESS, Paul & Shark, Calliope, Terranova, Max & Co, Brooks Brothers, and PINKO. DIZZ Group also has several warehouse stores as well as retail outlets in the top shopping locations in Malta.

It was certainly not an easy task for the hairdressers and makeup artists to come up with a unified look for the models to be able to look well with clothes from several different brands and styles, but they definitely succeeded at this challenge.
Makeup by Karl Zammit Nash & team
One of the elements that stood out the most in my eyes, was the makeup. The makeup artists used Evagarden products to create a beautiful rich blue wing on all the female models. I honestly couldn’t get enough of this look. It was not only perfect for the summer but seemed to fit in so well with all the outfits. Karl Zammit Nash and the entire team really did an incredible job.

Hair by Toni & Guy Essentials
I also liked the light and subtle clean look that the hairstylists gave the models, using TRESemme. There truly is something about the saying ‘less is more’. The majority of models had straight hair and that simple, yet perfect hairdo fit in so well with the vibrant eye makeup and seemed to work so well with all the collections.

There were two shows during Malta Fashion Week 2018 Day 1 which showcased collections from several brands, which were: Goldenpoint, LIU JO, Harmont & Blaine, Max & Co, Brooks Brothers, GUESS in the first show and Trussardi Jeans, Paul & Shark, PINKO, Michael Kors and Elisabetta Franchi in the second show.
It is safe to say that there certainly was a big variety to look at for both men and women. I personally was very happy to see that the amount of fashion for men, almost balanced out to the amount for females, which I hadn’t witnessed before. As there were many brands I will let the photos do the talking:
